The NJCC Community Alert Network is an advanced communication capability that will help make sure you are aware of potentially dangerous weather events and impacts that are forecast to occur or are occurring. This includes providing advanced notice of expected flooding so vehicles can be moved to higher ground.

The NJCC Community Alert Network will provide automated notifications when severe weather conditions are expected to impact Longport. Severe weather conditions include Hurricanes, Tropical Storms, Tornadoes, Severe Thunderstorms, High Winds, Flash Floods, Coastal Flooding, and Rip Currents.

Subscribers may also receive civil alert or other important messages.

After you register, you can login to your account and Opt-In or Opt-Out of specific alert types giving you the ability to customize the services delivered via text, e-mail and phone call (voice notification is only available for life-threatening conditions).

For users who are not fulltime residents, there is a SNOOZE option to enable only when you are in Longport for your convenience.

Included in the service is a new online feature, GeoCollaborate, so you can see safe parking areas during flooding and other relevant information on a map. This is currently best viewed on a tablet or computer screen as the map is interactive.
